12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
1 I will exalt you, Lord,
for you lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
2 Lord my God, I called to you for help,
and you healed me.
3 You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
you spared me from going down to the pit.
4 Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;
praise his holy name.
5 For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning
Has someone ever done you wrong and you still did them right? Hitting closer to home and being even more real, have you ever done someone wrong and they still did you right? On either side, how did you feel? Did you feel guilty? Did it hurt you in any way? God say in his word that we are to hold ourselves accountable more than anyone else. We should treat people how we wish to be treated. In this Psalm, David was delivered from his enemies, even though he knew he did not deserve God’s favor and mercy. How many times has God done that for you? How many times has he delivered you from a situation you got yourself into? How many times has he looked over your faults and still blessed you?
I charge us today! Let’s treat people with the respect we expect. God gave us his only Son, who died for our sins, though he was so undeserving of the way he was treated, “The Great Example”. Be blessed!
