Luke 17:3King James Version (KJV)
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
There was a certain woman who loved a man dearly. She loved him so much that they eventually got married. After marrying him and three kids, a wonderful home and what seemed to be the perfect life, she asked for a divorce.
The man asked, “Why? We have this wonderful life. Why would you leave me?” She replied, “I can’t take your infidelity any longer. I know you have been leading a double life and having an affair. The only reason I haven’t left is because so have I.”
Hurt and confused the man sat, crying because the truth finally came out on both ends. He then got up, grabbed his wife’s hand and said, ” Baby, let’s start over. I’m sorry and I love you.”
They both agreed to stop having affairs, trust one another and take baby steps while moving on.
There are countless times in all of our lives where we are asked for forgiveness. There are also countless times in our lives where we ask for forgiveness.
I ask today in the times where we had to forgive… what if it were you? Don’t forget how it feels to be on the other end.
I charge us to understand today and not judge for there is only one judge. Let’s treat one another right. Be blessed!
