Luke 21 King James Version (KJV)
21 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
I recall on many occasions that I have taken from myself and given to someone who was really in need. It was not just monetary, but I have given time, talents, and even advice and encouragement. I am not saying this to speak well of myself. I tell you the things I did because God gave me the ability to do those things, just like this woman in this situation. She gave the last two pieces of currency she had. A widow… with no support from anyone. Gave the last she had. She had already lost her husband, her mate, her backbone and probably the breadwinner for the two of them.
Yet, she still wanted to give though so much had already been taken. That… it true giving. How many times has someone done something to you but you killed them with kindness. That is true giving. How many times have you sacrificed for ungrateful people? True giving. I charge us today to truly give. That mean with no expectation of anything in return. See how God bless you anyway. Be blessed.
